Education & Workforce Development Committee

Supports the annual CORE4 STEM Program and other programs supported by the STEM initiatives at the local, state, and national levels to generate awareness for the Chamber; identifies and effectively communicates evolving technology, science, and e-commerce innovations to help further the Chamber’s mission; works on the development of the HLDF’s educational opportunities.

Membership Committee

Supports the Chamber’s membership retention and new member procedures; meets with members to ensure their needs are being met; organizes membership campaigns and events; and works closely with the Chamber’s membership volunteer group, the “Embajadores.”

Leadership Committee

Provides guidance and input related to the Chamber’s leadership development programs: Alexander Briseño Leadership Development Program; Latina Leadership Institute; Leadership SA, supported by the HLDF; and assists in identifying potential candidates for vacant board and commission positions.

Small Business & Economic Development Committee

Assesses the current and ongoing local and regional economy, making recommendations to the SAHCC Board of Directors on Chamber positions related to economic development and opportunities to support economic enhancement programs. By focusing on understanding local economic incentives, City and County programs, and proposed initiatives, this committee covers crucial topics that directly impact Chamber members such as job creation, access to capital, and business growth opportunities.

International Business Committee

Represents the international commerce and trade needs of the Chamber and its members through foreign Trade Missions; works with foreign government entities, trade associations, other Chambers of Commerce, and civic/business groups to simulate foreign representation on behalf of the Chamber and its affiliates.

Finance Committee

Provides financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the Chamber and HDLF budgets; ensures the Chamber is operating within the financial resources it needs to continue providing programs and services to Chamber members and the community.

Government Affairs Committee

Identifies and monitors issues on local, state, and national levels to support efforts aimed at the prosperity of the Hispanic business community; responsible for ensuring the passage of the Hispanic Chamber’s federal and State Legislative Agendas.

Corporate Governance Committee

Monitors compliance with nonprofit governance regulations and provides guidance to the Chamber’s Board of Directors; makes recommendations to the Board on governance policies, practices and procedures related to nonprofit organizations; supports and encourages opportunities for Board development; and leads the annual evaluation of the President & CEO.
