SAN ANTONIO, TX (AUGUST 7, 2024) – San Antonio local Jon Hinojosa advanced to the final round during Monday night’s episode of The Great American Recipe on KLRN. Now in its third season, the popular PBS cooking show features talented home cooks from across the United States in a showcase of regional flavor, traditions, and culture. Joining Jon in the final are Adjo Honsou from St. Louis, MO and Marcella DiChiara from Franklin, Massachusetts. The three finalists will compete for the title of winner of The Great American Recipe next Monday, August 12 at 8 p.m on KLRN.
San Antonians might recognize Jon Hinojosa from his previous work as founding director of the youth arts nonprofit, SAY SÍ. Now, Jon brings the unique flavors of South Central Texas to the national stage – along with levity and a few nail-biting moments. Throughout the season, Jon has repped San Antonio as well as his hometown of El Paso, Texas with dishes that showcase the diversity and flavors of Mexican cuisine. From tacos al pastor and esquites (Mexican street corn) to El Paso style chile rellenos and polvorones (Mexican Wedding Cookies), Jon has proven to be a formidable contestant in this friendly, feel-good competition.
