SAN ANTONIO, March 11, 2021 –-Hotel Valencia Riverwalk announces the promotion of Juan Flores as General Manager of the luxury boutique hotel on the San Antonio River Walk. In this capacity, he now leads operations for the award-winning property, ranked among the city and state’s best. The move marks a return to Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, where he served on the management team that opened the property in 2003.

Flores, has spent a majority of his more than two decades in hospitality management with Houston-based Valencia Group. Prior to rejoining Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, Flores was in charge of Corporate Logistics of Hotel Operations across the Valencia Hotel Group brand. He previously was named General Manager of Houston’s Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE in 2017. In this capacity, he led operations for the award-winning property. This marked a return to Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE, where Flores previously served as Assistant General Manager from 2009 until 2014. In addition, he has provided management and pre-opening support for Valencia Group third-party clients, as well as several of their new and in-development projects.

Flores first joined Valencia Group in 2001 in the dual capacity of Assistant General Manager and Food & Beverage Director for Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio, playing a pivotal role in the pre-opening of the hotel. From 2002 until 2004, Flores was the Corporate Director of Food & Beverage at San Jose, California’s esteemed Hotel Valencia Santana Row.
