SAHCC Applauds the Passing of H.B. 3271, a Bill that will Help Increase Access to Capital for Micro-Businesses in San Antonio

San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC) applauds the Texas House of Representatives for passing H.B. 3271, which will help increase access to capital for micro-businesses in San Antonio.

April 29, 2021 - One of SAHCC’s top 15 legislative priorities for this session is to “provide economic relief to small businesses that have been adversely impacted by COVID-19.”

Small businesses have demonstrated a disproportionate impact from the pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, our small and micro-businesses faced one major challenge – access to capital.

Unfortunately, the pandemic has only made this challenge worse. Businesses with greater access to capital were able to secure a PPP loan, while many of the impacted micro and small businesses were unable to do the same.

As we continue our economic recovery from the Pandemic, access to capital for micro and small businesses is paramount.

“HB 3271 is an affirmation of Texas' support for micro and small businesses to help address one of the main challenges they face – access to capital. The creation of this micro-business capital access program will continue strengthening small businesses in San Antonio and across Texas.”
