SAN ANTONIO (April 18, 2021) - Last week, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted a webinar via Zoom to discuss diversity in STEM alongside panelists Lea Rosenauer from Girls Inc., Dr. Cynthia Matson from Texas A&M- San Antonio, and Carlos Contreras from Goodwill.
SAHCC is grateful to Boeing for their sponsorship and making this event possible and to Texas A&M- San Antonio for providing the venue.
Education and workforce development are two of the main focuses of SAHCC and this conversation discusses the efforts that are being made to include women and members of underrepresented populations in the conversation.
This discussion is aimed to discuss diversity in the STEM sector from the lens of a non-profit, higher education, and the workforce.
“This discussion focuses on the need to promote diversity at all stages of the STEM pipeline and increase the number of people participating in STEM careers here in San Antonio.”

CEO of Girls Inc. of San Antonio Lea Rosenauer is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio, and is passionate about girls’ empowerment, as evidenced by her work with organizations such as Girls Scouts.
Dr. Cynthia Matson serves as the president of Texas A&M University-San Antonio and has an extensive career in higher education. One of her many accomplishments is helping the University achieve the US Department of Education Hispanic Serving Institution designation.
Carlos Contreras serves as the CEO of Goodwill San Antonio, and has extensive experience working with the City of San Antonio in areas such as economic development and government, public affairs, among many others.
